Happy April, friends!
Well typically with Spring, comes warmer weather, but for the good ole Midwest, it’s been a total crap shoot with few nice days lately.
BUT, that doesn’t mean we can’t start planning for the warmer days ahead. And with that, comes more Spring fashion, of course.
What I find usually is that when spring clothes come out, I gravitate to all the light, muted colors. Likely from having been in deeper, richer color tones over the winter months.
Well, this year, I am all about the black and white!
So today starts the new series – Spring into black + white!
In this series, I’ll show you how you can wear black – a color typically looked over in the spring – well into spring and even summer. Black is very flattering, very sleek, and a very “re-wearable” color. Yes, I did just make that word up – but what I mean by it is that I find that you can wear black more repeatedly without notice. So a basic black top can be worn with a lot of different bottoms and make the look very different, without it looking like you’re wearing the same top all the time.
For this week’s outfit, I wanted to share this adorable 3/4 flutter sleeve gingham top. It’s both flowy and flirty and has as an adorable button back to it. And, it’s very affordable, coming in under $23! I think it’s great for a wear to work piece, but I also recently wore it out on a date night and felt really cute in it!
I’ve also been looking for a pair of black denim that fit well and had a good length on them (sometimes I feel like jeans can be too long on my 5’4 frame) and found these on sale at Abercrombie and LOVE them! I’ve been wearing them a couple of times a week since I bought them. They fit true to size and also come in 3 different lengths – I am wearing the regular length and they go right around my ankle.
I mean, how cute is the back of this top?! I love the extra detail of the buttons, mixed with the flutter sleeve. I also just love these camel espadrille sandals – the wedge makes them super comfortable, and at $33, they are a great deal for spring, summer, and even into fall.
Finally, pairing with that cute lil crossbody purse, pictured in the first photo, just makes this look complete!
So there you go, a fun, cute, and affordable way to wear black and white right into spring!
Stay tuned for the next post in this series – it’s one of my faves! Thanks for stopping by!!
