Today I wanted to share my very favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks. Just below, I’m going to share a little background into the sale and how to get early access. So feel free to skip on by that if you just want to shop!
Nordstrom Sale Info/How to get Early Access
For those of you that aren’t familiar with the sale, let me give you a little bit of background. This sale happens every year in July and it features NEW fall clothing at sale prices. Once the sale is over, the prices go back to their regular new merchandise pricing. The sale lasts for about two weeks and the first week is early access if you are a card member. This allows card holders to pre-shop the sale before it’s open to the public to ensure that they snag their favorites before they sell out. (For early access next year, make sure to use your card, and if you don’t already have a Nordstrom card, you can sign up here. They offer both a credit and debit card option, which is awesome…and you also gain points for all of your purchases, that lead to rewards, which is money off of your purchase.)
How I shop the Sale
So here is how I shop this sale! I tend to order most of my choices online because it’s just easier and less chaotic. I then like to pop into the store the day or two after it opens to see what might look better in person than online, and to let some of the chaos of the first day die down.
I ordered on the first day of the sale so I just received most of my stuff yesterday – and now I am finally able to link and try it on to share. The good and the bad news – it’s all pretty great! I was thinking I’d really narrowed my choices down, but would still have a bit to return, but I really do love all of my selections. The style, fabric, and cut of all of it is really on par this year. Not to say that Nordstrom doesn’t always deliver… but this year, I feel like they stepped up their game!
Shopping Tips for the Sale
If you think you like it, buy it, because these items sell out FAST. They also re-stock frequently. And Nordstrom is great at exchanging at the price you bought it for — so you may wear a size M and they only have an XXS, grab it! OR if you find a color you like but they don’t have that particular one, scoop up the one they do have. Keep an eye on it and it will likely come back in stock and they will exchange it for you for free (and you get free shipping). Which is also worth mentioning…
If you think you like it, buy it, because it’s free shipping AND free returns. So worst case scenario, you have to drop something in your mail to return for free and have money back in your bank account, best case scenario, you snagged a new favorite clothing for fall or a home item for a lot less than it’ll be a week from now!
Let’s Get Shopping
So find my favorites below! I will point out the item that I’m featuring in the photo – but will link the rest of the outfit too below the photo.
Note – some of these are currently sold out, but are coming in and out of stock! DM me if you love something and I can let you know when it’s back!!
I wore the same denim and the same peep toe booties in 11/12 looks below. You can find the denim here (part of the sale – $44.90 regular $69) and the booties on sale here. The shoes fit TTS, but if between sizes in the denim, size down because they have a lot of stretch in them.
BP. Hooded Cardigan – $45.90 regularly $69
This is my absolute favorite purchase from the sale. It’s such a fantastic basic. It is incredibly comfortable, has a great length and long sleeves and a hood – it is the perfect cardigan for fall and winter.
Size down in this brand.
Top Shop Cardigan – $49.90 regularly $75
This is a nice HEAVY sweater for fall and winter. I am not in love with the fabric, just because it’s not THE coziest (like the sweater above), but it is great for warmth and the balloon sleeve is very on trend for fall.
If between sizes, size down in this cardigan.
Live In High Waist Leggings $35.90 regularly $54
Words don’t do these leggings justice – in the fall and winter, I really do LIVE in them. They are an investment piece, but such good quality and hold up for years and years. I still have the first pair I bought years ago when Zella came out at Nordstrom and they look almost like new. Love this navy color to switch up my leggings – and these can be dressed up or down.
Get your regular size in these but know that when you put them on, they will feel too tight! They suck you in and have great control. It takes a bit of getting used to, but they are amazing – thousands of 5 star reviews.
Stitch Curve Hem Cardigan $31.90 regularly $49
This cardigan is a really good quality fabric (last year’s version of this wrinkled and stretched out easily). I really like the detail around the neck and the cocoon shape.
I’d go down a size in this. I’m wearing an XXS and still have a bit of room.
January Tee $31.90 regularly $48
This swing tee is a perfect fall item – and could be layered more once those winter temps come around. Free People is always great quality and holds up really well. The long length of this tunic make it possible to wear with denim, shorts, or even leggings.
BP. Plaid Shirt $31.90 reg $49
What can I say? I’m a sucker for a black and white plaid shirt – as this is the 3rd year in a row I’ve purchased the BP version of this. This version is a lot better than last years though, I like the fit and quality more.
Go down a size – I’m wearing XXS and still have room.
BP. Twist Front Sweater – $31.90
This top was my favorite on paper, but once I got it, it showed a bit more cleavage than I prefer and I wasn’t a huge fan of how the twist in the front buldged out. It’s super pretty though, and keeps coming in and out of stock, so check back if you like it!
Size down in this sweater.
BP ribbed cardigan – $25.90 regularly $30
Articles of Society Distressed Denim – $44.90 regularly $69
Ok so this lightweight knit sweater may be my favorite of all of them. It can be worn untied, half tucked, knotted like I have it and it is a perfect transitional piece into fall. It keeps selling out but coming back in stock. Both colors are great!!
Size down in this one too.
BP Textured Stitch V-Neck Pullover – $25.90 regular $39
BP. Plaid Shirt $31.90 reg $49 (layered underneath)
I’m not head over heals for this sweater, but do think it looks really cute layered or off the shoulder. For the price, I might say pass, just because it didn’t wow me.
I’m wearing XXS (and usually do in this brand) but I think I would go to an XS, so if between sizes, go up.
Meant to Be Moto Jacket with Removable Hood – $64.90 regular $98
Ok stop with this jacket. I didn’t want to love it. I didn’t. I order a jacket every year and either return it or keep it and don’t love it. This one has all the things. It is black with GOLD detailing, has a detachable hood, and super flattering shape. Definitely sporting this as often as I can this fall and winter!
Thermal Henley Top – $24.90 regularly $38
Another favorite of mine. This one keeps selling out and coming back in so if you see one in stock, grab it. I guarantee they will re-stock it for the fall and it’ll be a huge hit. I would have one in every color if I could 😉
BP. Raw Edge Scoop Neck Tee – $18.90 regularly $29
