date night dress

Happy Monday ya’ll!

Today I wanted to share a dress that I got to wear over the weekend for a date night with my handsome hubby!  I really like to get dressed up and since I am not in the office as much these days, I like to get a little jazzy when I go out with Eric.  I spend the majority of my days with a 10 month old who could care less what I’m wearing, so I like putting on some heels when I get some adult time:)  I originally got this dress to wear for my daughter’s dedication but I thought it was too summery for the dreary weather that day and decided to just hold onto it for another occasion.

I found this dress a few months back when I got an alert that Victoria Beckham was launching her line at Target.  You see, I get probably 5 emails from Target a day because they’ve found that if they send them to me, I will stop whatever I’m doing and needlessly shop for clothes, decor, and everything NOT food/grocery related.  Mainly things I don’t need.  But I NEEDED a dress for my daughter’s dedication (no, I didn’t),  and I thought the VB line was too cute to pass up.  (I also saw that dresses were 25% off that day, and when I put this beauty of a dress into my cart and it said the ONLY exclusion ever in the world was the VB line, I continued to justify my need for the dress and the fact that I’d get 5% off by using my Target card anyway ;))

Anyway, this dress is so pretty and girly and comfortable.  I LOVE the one strap detail with the little flat bow, and I am obsessed with scallop detailing – if you couldn’t tell from my previous post.  One caveat to this dress that I feel I have to share – I did have to get it taken in.  It runs a bit big…  I’m petite and usually wear between an XXS and XS.  They only had this in the XS and it fit just a little too big on me.   I didn’t do anything to change the shape or length of the dress, just literally had it taken in a bit on the sides.  I probably could have even left it since it’s a shift dress, but it was just hanging a little too much for my liking.  So I would say order a size down in this dress if you’re between sizes.

My earrings are one of my new favs so you’ll probably see on repeat.  They’re sugarfix by Bauble Bar and sold at Target (and a fraction of the cost of Bauble Bar’s normal pricing).

One of the best parts about this dress is that it’s on SALE now!  Find the details below 🙂

orange scallop dress | tassle drop earrings | heels (similar) – my exact heels sold out, but these are what I’d also wear
